The following poem was written by Debbie Thompson a 7th grade student at the Saint Philip The Apostle School in Brigantine, New Jersey. Debbie Thompson expresses her thoughts in the poem she wrote below.
"A Great Man"
"They say that no one is perfect, but one man I did know...
Came as close to being perfect as anyone could go.
So quiet and so gentle no one else could be...
For he was a model and an aim for me.
As a teacher he was grand...
To the lowest he'd lend a hand.
And his knowledge he did share...
From Geography to the Science fair.
A man like Mr. Foreman comes once in a million years...
And now that he is gone, I know there are many tears.
I know I'll never find a man quite as nice as he...
For he was the greatest, the greatest man to me.
